Jeanne A. Devine, MS, LCGC
Visiting Lecturer of Biology
Bio
Ms. Devine has had a lengthy career as a licensed clinical genetic counselor across a gamut of settings including large public hospitals, small community health centers, private practices, genetic testing laboratories, and patient advocacy foundations. As a clinical genetic counselor, she spent over 20 years educating patients, providers, community members, and students about genetics disease and personal risk. Along with her clinical roles, she has taught biology and genetics to both undergraduate and graduate students at several colleges and universities. She finds that her experiences as a genetic counselor and educator help to walk students through everything from DNA replication in simple single-celled organisms to the technology and ethics of genetic engineering in humans.
Jeanne has lived in the Hudson Valley most of her life and in Dutchess County for the past 18 years with her husband and twin daughters. In what little free time she has Jeanne enjoys reading, gardening, and many forms of art.
